You want to make a difference, so let’s get into how you can do so by strategically designing social media strategies for 2024. And YES it can be fun, feel authentic, and totally flowy when you know who you’re speaking to and what you want to say.

For starters: Ultimately, we want to achieve two things: be relevant and connect. Any social media channel is a tool to augment brand awareness and engage your ideal client in a way that makes them excited about what you have to offer and that builds trust in your expertise.
When planning your 2024 strategy, consider the following 5 steps:
1. Research that Market!
In-depth market research to your strategy is like the dough to your favourite pizza. Without it, there is not much of a point. Understand what your ideal client cares about, what their desires are, where they hang out, etc etc. To understand your industry’s landscape, too, do competitors research and analyze their strategies, content types, and engagement levels. We recommend looking at 3-5 competitors in your niche. Do not be a copy cat though! *Not a vibe*! Rather gather inspiration and make it your own.
2. Follow the trends, even if you hate being mainstream

Yes, trends matter because they make you more relevant, and also can increase relatability. It makes you part of the tribe, if you will. So to prepare for 2024 and trends, simply research social media trends for 2024 on Google, YouTube and Co and get ready to integrate these in your content.
If we can give you ONE tip on creating a good social media strategy for 2024, it would be: Focus on high-quality video content. Crafting videos with broad messaging that speaks to many can increase your reach. Also, posting frequency is going to change in 2024. Aim to post 5-7 times a week to sustain momentum and visibility. 3 times is no longer enough to see growth.
3. Plan, but don’t plan ahead too far
In this fast-paced environment, planning content too far in advance can lead to your drafts becoming outdated by the time they're scheduled for release. We recommend a two-week content planning horizon. This allows flexibility to adapt to trending topics while maintaining a timely and relevant presence.
Note that this also highly depends on what industry you’re in! A parenting coach would not need to be as up-to-date on pop culture for example as a social media manager or even a skincare brand. Know what your audience cares about!
4. Creating Your First Strategy? The Non-Negotiables
Okay, yay! First of all: SO proud of you. Secondly, let’s make this as easy and straightforward as possible for you.
Market research is ALWAYS key. It’s what makes any marketing strategy successful. Every strategy has to RESONATE with the target audience. So - if you don’t know what your audience is into - how will you create content that matters to them? Go back to point one "competitor research" and look at e.g. Facebook groups, forums, and Google Analytics to see what people are interested in within your niche.
For content, we recommend a good balance between educational and inspirational posts. Also make sure to have a variety of content types, such as carousels, graphics, and reels, it’s crucial for a dynamic social media presence that keeps people engaged in what you have to say.
5. Check if what you're doing is working
How do you know whether your efforts even made a difference? There are so-called Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that serve as guiding metrics to evaluate if a strategy has been successful. Focus on Profile Visits, Website Link Clicks, and the Engagement Percentage. This provides valuable insights into your audience's interaction with your content, helping refine and optimize future content.
All in all, stay informed about trends and always create content that aligns with your ideal client and their desires (which you determine through market research!).
Keeping an eye on your metrics every month will give you great insights into what works best for your account. There is no one size fits all and experimenting is part of the social media game - as an agency we do this too!
